The goal of the Round-up was two-fold. First, we wanted attendees to have an opportunity to share with other teachers and administrators from around the state their ‘tried and true’ best practices, online and print resources, and strategies for solving problems/obstacles in the classroom. We take these best practices, resources and strategies, and make them available to all adult educators in the state.
Second, we wanted feedback on professional development needs in the field. What areas/topics should we focus on, and who do we need to provide more training for, both at the district level and in the classroom. All of the feedback gets shared with the state adult education team and helps drive the professional development plan, both face-to-face and webinars, for the next grant funding year.
Resources
- This year we utilized a google drive to house all the wonderful best practices that each of you bring to the table. When you arrived at the River Ranch, there was a blank “Best Practices Form” in your folder. The forms that were completed and turned in are on the google drive linked here. You can access a blank form and complete it as you come across more best practices in your school.
- We also created a more informal avenue to share best practices utilizing Facebook. You can “Like” our page by searching ACE of Florida Best Practices or by clicking here. This is a great way to ask questions, share content, and informally discuss issues and solutions with other educators.
- Carol Bailey and Lisa Williams’ presentation with general DOE updates can be found on our website here or on the google drive above.
