Working It Out! Preparing Our ESOL Learners for Work and Career Pathways

Participants in this virtual session define, experience and plan contextualized instruction for work and career pathways that is equally effective in virtual, hybrid, and in-person classes; promotes learner voice and choice; aligns with 21st century adult education competencies and standards; and acknowledges learners’ different levels of access (Smartphone v. laptop)

By the end of the session, participants should be able to

• define contextualized instruction
• identify ways to contextualize instruction through topics, authentic materials, tasks and skills; and
• create meaningful contextualized lesson activities that align with the needs and goals of their learners.
