Part-time Adult Education Teacher Academy

The FLDOE, Division of Career and Adult Education, and ACE of Florida, Inc. are pleased to offer the Part-time Adult Education Teacher Academies (PTTA) for part-time teachers who are often unable to attend the full ACE Conference.

These Academies are setup like mini conferences. They offer an Opening Session, break-out sessions, and resources, materials and information that can be used immediately in the classroom.

Educators Tackling Human Trafficking Room
Presenter: Vania Aguilar, Program Manager/Teacher, FSU Center for the Advancement of Human Rights

Human trafficking involves exploiting a person through force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of forced labor, commercial sex, or both. The signs of human trafficking are often hidden in casual encounters, but a strong learning relationship with students may reveal information to help teachers/tutors recognize signs of trafficking. This session will discuss trends in human trafficking, adult education curriculum resources and how you can join the fight against this horrific crime through education and awareness.
