ACE of Florida strives to provide the most up-to-date, professional, and in-demand face-to-face training for Florida’s adult educators, and we certainly succeeded with this year’s ACE Conference. With over 80 sessions and trainings, we offered something for everyone. I hope you took full advantage of attending the diverse sessions, visiting the exhibitors and networking with old and new friends.
I would like to thank the ACE Board of Directors, ACE office staff and the Conference Committee for their many volunteer hours helping to plan, organize and execute this event. A huge thank you to Melanie Stefanowicz, ACE President, for her vision and leadership in making this conference one of the best! We are very fortunate to have a close partnership with the Florida Department of Education, Division of Career and Adult Education, and we appreciate their continued support of the ACE Conference.
Our exhibitors are always a big part of the conference. I would like to thank each of them for sharing their latest products and services to better our adult education programs and help our students succeed. A special thank you to our sponsors who enhance the conference experience by providing support to allow ACE to offer ‘upgraded’ breaks and after-hours events. Much appreciation goes to National Geographic Learning and Cindy Le, our official conference sponsor, for sponsoring our wonderful keynote speaker, Andrés Ruzo.
ACE was excited and honored to choose their first community service project to allow us to give back to the host county. Read and Feed Palm Beach County was the perfect choice. Conference attendees donated over 1,200 books to be given to families in under-served areas within the Palm Beach County School District to help families build their home libraries. Thank you to everyone who donated.
Looking ahead, ACE has many upcoming regional trainings in the areas of Learning Disabilities, ESOL/EL-Civics ELP Standards and Part-time Teacher Academies. February 4-6, 2020, we will host the Administrators’ Leadership Institute in Tallahassee. June 7-9, 2020 we will host the Summer Symposium at the Westin Sarasota. There’s a whole lotta’ face-to-face training going on! If you want to be part of it, please contact the ACE office for more information. Let’s not forget… Legislative Session begins January 14th and runs through March 13, 2020. ACE will keep you updated on the latest news and happenings regarding adult education in Florida.
As you continue the great work you do in the field, please let us know if we can assist in any way. We appreciate your dedication and caring as you continue to improve the lives of your students and make your communities stronger.
Warmly,
Julie
